On Saturday 28th May, we invite you to join us for the Midland Pups first march in Birmingham's Pride Parade.
The group will assemble on Victoria Square at 10:45. The group leader, Wolfy, will be collecting names and signatures for EVERYONE walking with the group. This is a health and safety requirement and you will NOT be allowed to march if you don't sign. All the groups will be positioned accordingly with the help or the Parade Officials. The parade sets off from Victoria Square at 12 noon and the duration is expected to be an hour.
After the parade is over we are considering going for a drink or a bite. All pups, handlers and participants are welcome to come along.
Victoria Square > New Street > left turn into High Street > right turn into Carrs Lane > right turn into Moor Street Queensway/St.Martins Queensway > Smallbrook Queensway > left turn into Ladywell Walk > Hurst Street.
Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. Full gear, jeans and a t-shirt, shirtless. Any pups planning on going on all fours are advised to wear knee pads and gloves/mitts for their own comfort and safety.
Do NOT wear plug tails. NO exposed butts if you are going on all fours.
Introduce yourself to Wolfy when you arrive. He is legally liable for everyone in the group, so needs to know who you are and if you have any medical conditions.
Bring water and any medication you might need.
Stay behind the lead pup at all times on the walk.
As we aren't classified as a commercial walking group, handouts, banners, etc, are prohibited. This is because we are register as a community group and not a business.
If you want to wave Leather Puppy Pride Flag (the stripy one with a bone) then we request that you stay at the back of the walking group at all times while waving it.
NO sharp or unfinished edges should be exposed, NO glass should be used in any way, NO alcohol, illegal items or illegal substances are permitted during ANY stage of the Parade.
Please do not litter during the parade.
Failure to follow any these rules or the dress code may lead to you or the group being removed from the parade.
While the group itself does not have an official photographer we encourage all attendees to take pictures. Pictures will very likely be taken by the public as well so you must feel comfortable with this.
You do NOT need to have pride tickets to enter the parade and march with us, however you will not be able to attend the rest of the pride events without one.
